I have created PramukhLib-javascript library for enabling typing in Indian languages over internet. This library is powerful enough that using 3 lines of code, your website will be able to accept Indian language input. I have created many plugins using this library which enables Web developer to use it in their Websites for FREE. I have also created Firefox add-on for easily typing into Indian languages.
Still something is missing in this arsenal. What is it? Yes, it is a tool using which you can type in any Unicode enabled /supporting application. For example- Notepad, Microsoft Word, Powerpoint etc.
Project
PramukhIME - An Indian language IME
Project Update
I have completed developing PramukhIME and created help file. Within few days, it will be released to public domain after some beta testing. It works with
- 32 bits and 64 bits versions of Windows XP, Windows Vista
- MS Office 2003, MS Office 2007
- All applications including but not limited to Internet Explorer, NotedPad, WordPad, FireFox.
Benefits
- Transliteration rules will be same so if you are an avid user of above mentioned tools, typing will be very easy for you.
- There will be no need to install the program. You need to just download it and double click to use it. (It will require some settings in your computer to be turned on)
- Press F12 to toggle between selected Indian language and English.
- It will be a portable application with size < 150KB (hopefully) excluding help file.
Target Environment
This application will support XP and may also support Windows 2000.
Development Environment
Visual Studio
VC++
MFC(little bit)
Current Status
I have tested pretty much completed application on my XP Pro machine. So far it works fine. Currently all 9 Indian scripts are enabled and tested. It will have same menu as Firefox Addon. Here is a preview of how it will look like.

When you double click on it, it will add a new icon in the tray area. When you click on it, it will open up menu. You can choose the language you want.
Gray area
I don't know how this application will work on Windows Vista and Office 2007. I have to do some research about it. It is possible to do it, I will try to do it.
